Live Music: The Hill Country Ramblers In-Person

Billy Garza and The Hill Country Ramblers are known for their lively, all-acoustic performances throughout the central Texas.

Billy Garza, has called Dripping Springs home for over 25 years. Garza, influenced by artists like Alejandro Escovedo and John Prine, fronts the group and also performs solo and in song-swap sessions with fellow musicians. Before forming the Ramblers, he spent years soaking up music at Austin’s legendary Antone’s blues club, experiences that helped shape his songwriting. Beyond music, Garza has appeared as an actor on Paramount’s series 1923 and has been featured on PBS teaching gardeners about Texas Mountain Laurel.
The ensemble includes multi-instrumentalist Betsy Dewey (fiddle/mandolin/guitar/vocals), percussionist Todd Culbert on cajón, guitarist/mandolinist Jim Hudson, and upright bassist/fiddler “Jumpin’” Gerry Garcia. Together they blend originals and eclectic covers into a fun, engaging show that showcases the musical heritage and community spirit of central Texas.
